NABA

is the first British Arab organisation of its kind which address issues relating to British Arab community in the UK.

The concept of a nationwide organisation for British Arabs, encompassing all Arabs and friends of Arabs in the UK, has been long awaited.  It stems from a need to address the interests of this sizeable British community and to encourage a collective and positive contribution in all aspects of British life within the democratic framework of multiethnic Britain. It is also essential for the sake of our future generations to ensure that they reap the rewards of our move to Britain.  This is the first real opportunity to put Arabs on the map of Britain as a significant ethnic group and a step towards a larger European Arab contribution.

·           NABA is for all those who identify themselves culturally as Arabs and  any person with an interest in Arab culture and history from any community who wish to participate in promoting the Arab presence in the UK.

·           NABA recognises and welcomes the multiple identity status of its members for better positive input and healthy integration in their new home.

·           NABA is not racial and will function within the British framework of multicultural and ethnic identities and welcomes any persons who believe in an Arab identity whatever their background.

·           NABA encourages all views and standpoints.

·           NABA concentrate on British and European issues, objectively and maturely emphasising the role of Arabs in the Western Diaspora and encourages their active participation in all aspects of British life.

·           NABA shall refrain from interference in the internal political affairs of the Arab world and would only address the futuristic and humanitarian issues of Arabs worldwide and the Arab world in an international context.

·            NABA is open to all individuals whatever their political, professional, ethnic or religious affiliation.

·           You will be able to support the Association in any possible way you can however little the time you can spare (see overleaf, How I Can Contribute).

Remember, your input will be of significance, a foundation stone for your community, for our future generations and to Britain, our new home.   The Association is yours and you are the founders.
