Guantánamo Bay - Amnesty International

Despite a major international outcry and expert condemnation of US Government policy, over 400 people of 35 different nationalities remain held without charge or fair trial at the US Naval Base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.

Amnesty calls for:

The closure of Guantánamo Bay
All detainees to be released or transferred to US to receive a fair trial
No person released to be transferred to a country where they are likely to be subjected to torture, ill treatment or arbitrary detention
Access by independent monitors to all detainees held in US custody on suspicion of terrorist activity throughout the world
